Scope

This specification covers Type ACWU90 armored cable manufactured with soft annealed copper conductors or AA-8000 series aluminum alloy conductors.
The conductors are insulated with cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) and provided with a water-resistant insulation system, an overall PVC outer jacket, and an interlocked aluminum alloy armor.

The cable is designed for use in both dry and wet locations, offering enhanced moisture protection and durability, in accordance with applicable CSA standards.

Application

ACWU90 cable is intended for use as service, feeder, and branch circuit cable in commercial, industrial, and institutional installations, including locations exposed to moisture.

• Electrical distribution systems requiring armored and moisture-resistant cable

  The cable shall be legibly marked with conductor size (AWG or kcmil), cable type (ACWU90), rated voltage, temperature rating, manufacturer’s name, applicable standard, date of manufacture, and sequential footage marking.
